Mary Kuwana (DNP) joined Sunflower Family Medicine in October, 2010. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2010. She received her Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Sciences from the University of Florida. Mary is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and certified Reiki Master.
Professional Affiliations: American Nurses Association, Colorado Nurses Association, and Heart Rhythm Society.
Mary enjoys hiking, cycling and skiing. She believes her greatest contribution to this world is her precious children.
Her philosophy towards life is rooted in her parents’ teaching: “To thy own self be true” and “Love yourself”.
Her philosophy in providing healing is inspired by Tohkaku Wada, a physician during the Edo period, Japan. “…when a medical master sees a patient, he sees himself. The healer and the patient are one. “In this way, the master knows very well about the patient and the patient’s disease.”
